This is the hardest announcement I have ever had to make. However, the family has asked me to make it. George McCorkle, founding member of the Marshall Tucker Band is currently in the hospital fighting Cancer. Unfortunately, the very devastating disease has spread thru his body and the Doctors do not feel he has much longer to suffer. His family ask that you respect his privacy. However, well wishes, prayers, and notes can be emailed to me thru Bruce@GeorgeMcCorkle.com and Vivianne and I will read them to him. Vivianne, George, Justin, and the McCorkle family ask that you send up prayers for George. On a personal note, I have known George for a few years now. When I met him he was one of my musical heroes. After knowing him one day, he was my inspiration as a man. He is the man we all should strive to be. I have heard the word "Legend" used on many people. However, it was not until meeting George, that I truly understood it's meaning. For those of you at the BBQ, he had asked me not to cancel it, or tell anyone. George being the Cowboy he is wanted all of you to have fun. George you are my best friend, my brother, my hero, A true "Legend". I Love you man!!

My brother , prayers are going up over and over.....I know you're devastated and I know that it is not fair for someone so nice to go through that pain especially so early in life. It's not fair to you either dude. Just know that you two guys and his family are on my mind . I really don't like to see my friends hurt with the pain that you are feeling now...I'm here for you man.
I'll get that tape for ya.

Bruce both Eddy and I are so sorry. We were both fortunate enough to meet George in person (thanks you to Bruce) while he was with the Renagades. It would be a real beauthiful if MTB was inducted into the RRHOF. The Hootys are there for you if you need us. Be strong Brother.

Sorry it took me so long to post, Bruce. We haven't been able to get George off our minds since I talked to you on Monday. Please know that Craig and I are praying for him and his family.....and for you too. Miracles do happen sometimes, that's what we'll be praying for. We're all here for you if you need anything.
