WILD ADVENTURES
I had the pleasure of going with Aunt Jane and frynds to Valdosta, GA. to see Van Zant. We had a great time and we are ready for another road trip. We were very fortunate and got to go back stage. I was so nervous and Donnie told me there wasn't anything to be nervous about. Ha!! That's what he thought! Both were so nice and Susan you were right, they both made me feel like family. I met so many wonderful people there and hope to see them again soon. We also ran into Teresa Gaines and that was a great surprise. She sure is a very nice lady.
The band before Van Zant was The Laney Strickland Band. They were awesome and I got to meet him and his girlfriend. So now we go to the main show. WOOHOO Van Zant! They really put on ONE HELL OF A SHOW for us. I saw them here in Jax in Dec 2005 and thought that show was awesome. But Saturday night in Valdosta they were SMOKIN' HOT! Johnny and Donnie were all over the stage singing and cutting up like they always do. The band was cutting up with them. Watching them like this you know they all love what they are doing. These guys put their heart and soul into their music. I don't have a set list, but here are some of the songs they played; "Nobody Gonna Tell Me What To Do", "Help Somebody", "Things I Miss The Most", "Wild Eyed Southern Boys", "Sweet Home Alabama", "Call Me The Breeze", "I Can't Help Myself", "I'm Doing Alright", "Red. White And Blue" and of course, "Plain Jane." After they played that song Johnny said, "That was for Aunt Jane." And Donnie asked her to stand up. She sure did. She is so proud of them and you sure can see it in her eyes when she talks about them and their music. We all are very lucky to have Aunt Jane in our lives. She is one special friend.
So ya'll......if Van Zant has a show near you, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND GO TO SEE THEM. Johnny also mentioned they have a single coming out soon called "That Scares Me So." He said for us to start calling the radio stations and requesting their new single. So let's get busy and call them. Oh, and yes ladies, Matt sure is a cutie.
In case you folks were wondering, they know who the reefer lady is now!
