Well, today was full of rain. As you can see by the umbrellas in the crowd and our drenched hair. But, Rain or Shine the show goes on. After getting the stage covered so we didn't get electrocuted. Ok, so the band didn't. I was pretty safe. The show kicked off and I have to introduce you all to the singer Robin.
Robin did a great job and I am truly impressed with his performance. He sang his heart out and gave the audience a show that will remain in their memories. As you know Robin has come into the band after a great tragety. I think it took alot of courage and strength to do the job he did. Robin sang with true heart and confidence. He is a strong singer with the ability to sing Southern Rocks best songs. Those being Ronnie Van Zants. Robin, in my book and everyone I talked with, you rock. I am looking forward to seeing you again soon.
And then of course we have our band that plays the music. Brett, Mike, Jimmi, Paul, Pat and Cutty. And no show is complete without our Gatorettes, Ginny and Jenn.
Despite the bad weather the band played on and awed the crowd. Talk in the crowd as I stood there was nothing but how great this band was. Voices behind me and to the side praising the group and their ability to sound like Lynyrd Skynyrd. Bringing back memories of the 70's.
It took a lot to perform this day. The weather, the first gig since our loss. I know one thing for sure, Mel would want them to carry on and CARRY ON they did. The crowd was thinning out as the rain continued to pour down on us. But once that first note of "Working For MCA" came out. The crowd was coming out from inside Hooter's, not caring about the rain or getting wet.
Just standing there playing their air guitars, moving to the beat, clapping and cheering. Way to go Gator Alley Band. I am proud to be associated with this band. I plan on being around a long, long time with them.
