GATOR ALLEY BAND - CONCORD, CA
Once again, The Gator Alley Band played their hearts out and won the hearts of many at A.J.’s Sports Pub & Grill. I would first like to thank the owner, ANDY STEINBERG, for having them. He was super nice and made sure that everything the band needed was there. Thank you Andy.
On Saturday night at A.J.’s, Gator Alley performed to what was a fantastic crowd and packed the place with customers. As always, we got there early to watch the band set up and visit, which is always a treat. They all are running around putting together equipment and helping each other out with things if they are done with theirs. This makes for a pleasant bit of extra time to sit and enjoy each others company.
The crowd was totally into them. Several folks approached me and asked me about the band and told me they sure brought back memories. This really made me happy, because this is exactly what they want. To let people hear and feel the music as though they are there with the original band. Gator Alley does just that with ease.
All the band members were at their very best and as I have said before. This is the best tribute band I have seen. They concentrate on the sound, not the look. Each member knows their part and plays it with great expertise. Mike, Jimmi, Pat, Paul, Kenny, Cutty, and Jen all performed to a crowd of Lynyrd Skynyrd loving fans. The music had people off there butts and on the dance floor not long after starting. Of course the all time favorites like, “Sweet Home Alabama”, “Give Me Three Steps”, just name a couple were crowd pleasers to all in the bar. With Mike, Pat and Cutty on guitars and Jimmi on bass, than you throw in Paul on drums and Kenny on keys, you got yourself a real Southern Rock show of shows. Jen singing backup and dancing catches the eye of all in the place. She really can keep a crowd going.
The show started at 9pm and we did not leave the place till 1am. The band could not play enough for the crowd. They wanted more. They ended the evening with the traditional, “Freebird”, which always brings everyone to their feet and lighters in the air. It’s a great feeling of emotion to see this happening, it means that the band has given the fans exactly what they intended to. The feeling of “Lynyrd Skynyrd”. One hell of a show. Just when I think I’ve seen them at their best, they out do themselves again and I can’t wait for the next show.
Gator Alley Band, job well done. And looking forward to the next one....
