I know I didn't do it  ...I didn't get as crazy as I thought I would but Aunt Jane tried her best to get me to drop 'em  ...plus I was running around talking to everyone.and taking photos . I just did Saturday only ....things didn't work out to camp out ...I had a blast though !!!!!! JoJo sang with us on That Smell and Coming Home. I'm sure Bruce will give a good detailed report about it soon...think he's recuperating ;D |

I think it was a success. Everyone is on their way home now. To quote my neighbor "hell this is a historical event, aint nothin' like this ever happened round these parts". JoJo and Aunt Jane were AWESOME. I can't even describe how I felt to play one of George's songs, next to JoJo Billingsley, while a Van Zant was singing along. was the greatest 4 minutes of my life. I will say this, I was never so humbled than to see how very blessed I am. I had all of ya'all, my family, Jane, JoJo, and over 400 people joining in via internet. If I died tomorrow It would be completely satisfied and without regret. I tried to take all of the loyal DSJ folks aside and tell them what I want to say to you who could not make it: "I can not ever express in words what you all mean to me. I realized I have the greatest friends in the world in all of ya'all. Thank you"
I will be uploading pics and video over the next few days. Please be patient as I am compiling, editing, and spending a lot of time at the hospital with George. I will put together a DVD of the whole event to send out to all that want it. We are already planning next years, bigger and better. I am thinking we will move it up to May so it aint quite so hot though. I will set the date the next week or so so ya'all have a whole year to plan, etc.
I REALLY want to thank:
The Outfit - equipment and an awesome performance and (CJ for letting me plug into his amp for "Can't you see"
The Southern Boys Band - these guys are family to me, and were my savior in more ways than I can tell you. Thanks guys,,,
JoJo Billingsley - Jo you brought the house down. I can't tell you how much you mean ta me and the family. It was a true honor and blessing to get to play on stage with you, even more when ya gave me a big ole kiss on the cheek while I was playing, almost forgot the chords, lol
Jane Van Zant - Jane you are family, my kids consider ya another grandma. I knew the party was a success when I saw you and Denise and the girls all dancing while the band and JoJo were playing. You have been there for me since day one, cheered me on, kicked my but when I was lost, thanks sweetie.
Susan And Randy - How do I begin, you two are as good as it gets. Love you guys!!
Teri and Craig - All I can say, is above and beyond.... Thanks for all you do!!
Dang, I can go on and on everyone pitched in sooooo much!!!!
Jody and Mary Anne (If it were not for Jody I don't think the tents would have ever made it thru the day, and the awesome shirts)- Joe Bar and Diane (Joe was an awesome help on the webcam and keys, Diane YOU ROCK!!!! you are an angel)
Tony B, Stan W., Harry and Susan, Wolf and Larry, Mike and Caroline (I LOVE ya guys, we really miss ya), Gary Allen, Bobby and Jenny, WoodJam and crew (thanks for all the help)

Most of all, I would be remiss if I was to forget to thank my Wife, Denise and Kids. Without ya'all I could not have pulled this off. But even more for putting up with me the past few months while I was bouncing off the walls.
