Any members in the Minneapolis area?
Say a little prayer for the victims of the bridge collapse.

Pretty awful sight. How in the world could something that size just break in half? Guess they'll figure it out. Very sad.

That's horrible. Those poor people.
Here a few year's back the I-40 bridge over the Ark river got hit by a barge and collapsed with people on it, and recently a 4x4' chunk fell out of it again.
I don't like bridge's at all... they scare me to death over water especially

it takes a tragedy like this for them to spring into action and start inspecting all the bridges. My Heart and Prayers go out to ALL those involved in this tragedy and their families

They'll inspect for awhile, til the new's move's onto other stories and folk's don't have it on the front of their mind...
Sad but true.. they're already talking about the million's of $$ it would take to inspect this country's major bridge's, and they don't wanna spend it

same thing with redlights. so many people have to die first then they will take a more closer look at the intersection. insane isn't it....
and yes I have gone over that I-35 bridge about 6 years ago....after seeing the new camera angle on fox today then I knew it was the one....

Yeah, ya know this will be a big deal for a while and everyone will be all freaked out about bridges and inspections will be going on everywhere. And then something will happen and it'll stop. Mostly because of funds. But if there was ever a good place for my tax dollars to go.....this would be one of them.
I hate bridges....there's a bunch in Jacksonville and I never liked crossing them and never got used to them. I had a cousin years ago go over the side of a big bridge, way bigger than the one in Minneapolis, into the Mississippi river in Rock Island, Illinois. Somebody ran her off the bridge somehow I guess. She was 17 years old and it was the day before her high school graduation. What made the whole thing so much worse is that her dad was the deputy sheriff in town and was called to the scene of the accident. That poor man stood there watching as they brought the car up out of the water. He had no idea it was his own vehicle they were bringing up until he saw the license plate. She was still in the car. My uncle was a mess for a long time.
That story stuck with me for so long. It was just heart breaking, maybe that's why I don't like bridges. I really feel for these folks waiting around for their loved to be located down there. Must be agonizing.
