--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This review will be writen from the Heart people because thats what this band puts into their music and their performance. I pride myself in reporting the truth, because if its not, than I am just one BIG damn LIE. This is one group you do not want to miss. There are things in life that you say to yourself you would definitely like to see. Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, maybe the 4 Presidents of Mt. Rushmore, add to that list the Renegades of Southern Rock. I heard so much about them from Mr. Bruce Wall and everything he said about them was the Gods honest truth. Heard about them and how good they were from Mr. Bobby Booth also. I must admit I was the Doubting Thomas going into this concert not knowing what to expect since I never seen them before. You know how you heard so much about a movie that you had to go see it and than you was really dissapointed because it really wasn't all that you expected. The Renegades of Southern Rock did not and I repeat with capital letters to emphasize my point DID NOT dissapoint us or the crowd. The very second they started playing, their music grabbed you, pulled you in, sucked you up like a black hole in the sky. What a way to start a show with an Allmans classic I'm No Angel. The crowd grew silent and very attentive as all eyes were fixed to the stage. People were not mulling about nor moving around during their performance like they usually do at a concert. I think everyone there was super glued to their seats while the Renegades played. I will honestly admit I do not know all the names of the ROSR but I do know of them and their respective bands. Put together they are all very Stellar musicians, sort of like puttin together all the right ingrediants to make the perfect meal. Their set although shortened by the fact that the Outlaws were to follow with their performance was consisted of timeless classics like Fire on the Mountain, Midnite Rider, the Wet Willie classic Keep on Smiling, Sandford Townsend Band masterpiece Smoke from a Distant Fire and Take the Highway. Later on in the show when they did Georges old band number Can't You See, they brought the house down. Everybody was standing for that anthem, even people in wheelchairs were miracuriously cured for that ten minute number. Well here I must admit that maybe I stretched the truth a little bit but I think you get my point!!! After hearing them play Can't You See it really made me wish that George was with MTB and that MTB played that song in the style that the Renegades played it. George and his partners showed us how that song was really meant to be played. It took me back to early MTB days and heard something that I haven't heard in maybe 30 years the way GEORGE MCCORKLE played it back then. If I died right now and went to Rock and Roll Heaven I would go to heaven with a great big smile on my face telling St Peter that after all these years I heard one of the GREATEST songs ever recorded played live by George McCorkle and the Renegades, Can't You See. After seeing the Renegades it makes me want to see em again TODAY. They are definitely like Skynyrd where you can never get enough of them. I honestly think they would be a compliment touring act with the Van Zants doing their Get Right with the Man Tour. Please somebody in the music industry take heed to what I just said in them last couple of lines and act on it. It would definitely be the perfect blend sort of like Spaghetti and Meatballs or butter on toast. Please people don't pass up this once in a lifetime chance to see one of Americas SUPERGROUPS. Even though they might not be heralded by the music industry as a supergroup but for anyone who has seen or heard them, you know the truth about the Renegades. After all it took the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 8 or 9 tries before they finally admitted the truth about Skynyrd and give them their right place in history You will walk away from the Renegades of Southern Rock concert being a believer and wanting more. You will definitely have witnessed an important part of Musical History. Trust me on that one. You heard so much about them now go see them because its the truth. THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!!!
