Definitely a GREAT place to see a concert especially if they have pit
general admission standing which means you can do what the Hootys do,
get there hours before the door opens and when the concert starts you
have the best view in the house RIGHT IN FRONT DEAD CENTER. Security was
GREAT and even though they advertised no flash photography they did not
bother or hassle anyone when flashes went off. Being we got their early
and seen our friend John Lavoti who happens to be one of the nicest guys
you ever want to meet. He is also the Sound Technician for 38 Special
and the Van Zants and one of the best in the Music Industry today. He
was nice enough to take Lauries hat onto the Tour Bus and get it signed
by both Donnie and Johnny for her. Show time, no opening act so we got
what we came to see the Van Zants doing their Get Right With the Man
Album. They had a LARGE band, three lead guitars Mojo on Bass, Bobby
Capps on Keyboards, drums and a Steel Guitar to boot. The band started
playing and a half minute later the much anticipated arrival of the
Brother Van Zants arrived on stage. The music sounded so much like the
album it was INCREDIBLE. The place was packed to the rafters aged 60 to
maybe 13 year olds. We had two families right by us standing with their
kids right with them. Engaging in conversation with them we were amazed
to find out ALL in their respective family LOVED the Van Zants. Was the
music as good as Skynyrd or 38 Special. The best I can describe it is
once again I was transported to Rock and Roll Heaven. You know how much
you love seeing Donnie and 38 on stage and you know how much you enjoy
seeing Johnny with Skynyrd. Well now you got the best of both worlds.
Back a couple of years ago when 38 and Skynyrd were touring together and
you just wished you would see the MAGIC of Johnny and Donnie on stage
together doing just one song. Well now the magic is there but not for
just one song but an entire concert. The antics of Donnie flying around
the stage with 38 and Johnny working the crowd like he does at LS shows.
But the togetherness these two Brothers shared on stage was second to
none. You wish it could go on forever but like all concerts their is an
Alpha and an Omega
Would the Hootys recommend this concert YES WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Its
a once in a lifetime chance to see them perform together on stage. Scale
of one to ten its definitely a high ten. Not only is the music and the
performance GREAT but it is something you will cherish forever
