As many of you may have seen on the news, we were hammered with a very long night of sever storms and Tornados. This was one of the longest nights and series of storms I can remember. I grew up in Arkansas so I am no stranger to tornados. However, this was just awful. There are over 48 dead - so far, 100's injured and the destruction is just terrible. The last of the first series devastated the town of Lafayette that is only 15 minutes from my house.. This system of tornados, softball size hail, and SEVERE storms lasted almost 12 hours... A tornado hit a pumping station causing a huge explosion, just awful. They said an aircraft came down, a school dorm destroyed trapping students, just terrible.

I'm ok thanks Susan I didn't get any sleep either, havent turned my phone on yet.... yeah when they hit here like that its always bad.. those were some mean twisters.... well it went around us by about 2 miles we got heavy ass rain and lightning but no bad winds ...heard some trees crack .....it broke up right as it got to nashville and then regrouped right after the city limits and started again......man it was so close I video taped some of it you could hear the wind down the street what a roar that was and the sirens going off....wow I have never heard a tornado siren close to our house before...they must have installed it last year.... ....well bro welcome to Tennessee....again... theres been 3 confirmed tornadoes that have gone over our house since we moved here 35 years ago and numerous severe storms that have always hit right in our neighborhood ....but the last 2 years I have seen a change in the storm patterns....I was always able to set my watch by the 5 o'clock thunderstorm for years....seriously I could.... now it is a changing.... Bruce just wait til April.....glad you're ok dude.. I can't believe that line of storms is still moving into Florida...I've never seen one last so long....

we had one tornado that I know of fairly close here, as the crow flies, it was probably only about 7 to 8 minutes away. they said it tore a path for about 60 miles or so. completely leveled Highland which is about 20 or so miles north of my house. took out a hospital emergency room in mt. view, which is about 20 miles west. crap hit the fan every direction around us here, thankfully all we had to deal with was the wind remnants and lightning, lots of lightning.

Man! Thank God you guys made it thru that round of hell! Pray for the families of the ones that didn't. And for all of the thousands that have to rebuild. It's tough, I know, One took the roof off the west side of my last house, blew down 147 trees around my house and the adjoining property. Then of course there was Rita. You're right Tony, "the times they are a changin'" We caught the southern end, not much to it really, wind, rain and lightining. Not sure it's global warming or just a typical earth cycle, but storms are for sure stronger and a lot more plentiful these days. I just hope God ain't so mad at us that he's done here!

Kinda makes ya wonder doesn't it Jody...
Atkins Ark got hit BAD.. it's on I-40 sorta in between Little Rock and Ft Smith.
They found bodies in tree's, bodies here and there that nobody knew, which meant the tornado threw them far... horrible devistation... these people need our prayers as well as the others that were hit
