Dale's got a great blues singer's voice, so yeah you can hear a little Janis in there. Very strong voice. That youtuber dude has some great stuff and a few songs I've never heard before.....if you haven't already, add yourself as a subscriber and then you'll be notified when he puts new stuff on.
