As you know, Tony has been hard at work getting some of his videos edited and uploaded on to youtube. He's got some great interviews and I'm sure they'll just keep gettin' better and better. They are all kind of scattered here and there on DSJ so I made a place just for them and then as he gets new ones added he can post them all in the same place. Anywho....they are in the 'All Things Music' section under Tony's Video Vault. There's some good stuff there! Good luck on your DVD project, Tony. You're gonna be a star someday!! One day there will be a VH1 or CMT special ...... Featuring Mr. Bruce Wall; Southern Rock Historian and Mr. Tony Beazley; Award Winning Rock and Rock Videographer. Not being funny......I really do believe this! ;D

Well I had to delete one of Genes video last night because I heard that the airplane pilots did not dump the fuel and were not at fault for that. I had a meeting with one of Bruces friends yesterday and he brought it up after I sent him a link to it.
He was upset about how Gene was dogging the pilots on how it was their fault for the crash. This person was at all the FAA and NTSB meetings...ALL OF THEM... and it was due to a faulty maganeto that kept on catching on fire. The tower said to make your mixture richer so it would put the fire out..so they did , and it would catch fire after a while and so they would richen it up again...so they used all that fuel on that one engine but then like Gene said the plane just flat ran out of gas. IT NEVER WAS MISTAKENLY DUMPED from what I was told yesterday.
It was brought to my attention that the kids and family of the pilots could be watching this video and it sure could be upsetting to hear their own dad getting put down somewhat...I saw the point he made, so I did delete it.... no way do I want to be part of lies or mistruths on my video work I do. Thats why I quit working for the local tv news department. But as someone told me last night ...you can't make everyone happy.
Yeah I thought it was all pilot error and yes I have been pissed for years about this. It's really hard to tell whose story is true....seems to be the pattern with things asscociated with Skynyrd. This crap makes my head spin....
Rick and I are only in this for the truth about Skynyrd..we are only here to tell the story about the music and song writing...
The question still remains ...Should they have gotten on the plane knowing that it was not in a good operational condition?
Whose fault was that?

We've all heard so many theories about this from people who were on the plane and some that weren't. And I have also read that this was the last time they were going to use that plane.....just One More Time. In hindsight.....should they have gotten on that plane knowing it wasn't in good operational condition? Obviously not, but most of us don't think things like that happen to us, with the exception of Jo Jo. I'm sure the survivors thought about that everyday of their lives for a long long time and some probably still think about it. It's also easier for people to blame someone whether than accept the notion that something was just an "accident." I have always felt sorry for the families and friends of those 2 pilots. They are hardly ever mentioned when you read a story about the crash, unless it's to blame them for it. But then again, they weren't famous so I guess they get overlooked. Pretty sad. Thanks for the info Tony and I admire your ethics on this.

yeah, plain in simple was just one of those things. Sucks, but if anyone thought it was going to happen they would have prevented it. The important thing is to tell their story as a band. The personal side is only for their actual friends and family to really know. But, we as fans can celebrate the music and their lives, and leave the negativity for people with nothing better to do. The way I see it is this, spreading negativity about the band hurts all of their memories. Forget the bad, celebrate the good. There are so many great stories noone has ever heard. I know Jo Jo, and Jane, and Mike, etc have all shared awesome stories with me. Tony, is a very good and honorable man. He is a true fan in every since of the word and we are so very lucky ta have as part of our DSJ family.

Well let me put it this way. If ALL the folks at DSJ weren't JUST the way they are I wouldn't have been around here this long! I just relate real well with Bruces way of thinking plain and simple. And Tony my friend, anyone that would question your ethics must be Iranian or something ;D
