About 3:30 am this morning, our daughter's 1yr old solid white female cat starts to franticaly scratch and raise all kinds of ruckus at our bedroom door.
Now we are kinda used to her wanting in the bedroom by scratching on the door but she usually will give up after a few seconds. Well this time she kept returning over and over again and started to use a male cat sounding call.
Well after about 45 minutes of this madness, my wife gets up to let her in....only thing is she didnt want to come in even when my wife said "come on girl!!"....she just stayed in the hallway like she was wanting to be fed or something.
Thats when my wife noticed a gushing sound. A plastic cold water valve under the kitchen sink had blew apart on the twist knob letting water flow like a garden hose.
By the time I ran outside through the dark half naked to the end of my driveway to cut off the water main, the flood had already soaked ALOT of carpet and was just inches from my piano and my new guitar amp.
Whew!!!
Ironicly the true beggining to this story started out alot wierder way before the water incident. A very, very strange coincidence took place right before this all went down. A sorta clairvoyant experience indeed.
I'll share it with you later when I get back home from work this afternoon.

That's a pretty smart cat you've got there WJ! What a great story! And the average person doesn't think cats are very bright. I love cats. I think you should change her name to Las sie! That was a Las sie thing for sure. (woof woof - Timmy's in the well, let's go get him)
And please do finish your story, I'm sure it'll be quite entertaining.

Ok let me back up and tell y'all what happened just hours before the flood.
I just finished a huge job that paid a nice amount over what I was expecting and I got to thinking that it was a good time to replace my daughter's first real bike (single speed) with a nifty new ten speed. Mainly because I just junked the old one and hauled it waway a week or so ago and now both of my boys have one but she didnt. It kept crossing my mind that she had nothing much to do outside without her bike and it would be unfair for her to just watch her brothers riding everywhere on thiers.
I bought her a new one yesterday. No Birthday, No good grades reward, just because I thought that she really needed one esp it being spring break week here. I had another item on my mind to purchase but I knew that there was not near enough room on my truck left to load them both.
So I just stuck with the bike and headed home.
When I got home, I then find out that my daughter and my wife had a prior major discussion that day about how bored my daughter was with no bike or nothing to ride. Then I show up moments later with a brand new ten speed. They kept asking me how I knew over and over.
And what other item did I not have room to haul on my truck you may ask?
A wet/dry shop vac.
Wierd!!!!!!

It is amazing how smart cats are. Don't ya wish you knew what they talk about. Sort of like a Dr Doolittle thing. Misty think that she is my Mommy. If I get sick she won't leave my side. Wood Jam...Wet food and catnip for desert

See, the way I look at it is that because you had even considered getting that wet vac subconsciously you knew you needed it. We don't pay enough attention to those little messages we get. I honestly believe that, because those kinds of "coincidences" happen all the time. Hope you get your house cleaned up!
I had a flood about a year and a half ago from some valve in the toilet tank that got stuck. Water poured out of the toilet for about an hour before I found it. Had a completely flooded bedroom, which was waaaay beyond the wet vac stage to save the carpet, so we had to rip it up and get new carpet. We're talkin' ankle deep water! Ruined a whole hallway of some pretty expensive wood floors that we still need to replace. So, see....it can always be worse. Too bad we didn't have a real smart cat to give us a warning!

Smart Cat thats for sure. Our Misty cat the female loves sleeping with us, so does our male cat DooBoo but Misty is ten times more fectionate. Ifin I put my arm out Misty will nestle in it every time. I will put my arm parellel with my body just enough space for a cat in between and here she comes, drapes her paws inbetween the armpit and over my shoulder area and hangs out. When Mrs Hooty sleeps she will come and sleep on Mrs Hooty's chest with her face close to Mrs Hootys
