I was going to post this on the old forum but might as well do it here. Ya'll gotta see this. This little guy is only 10 years old and just started playing 2 or 3 years ago! Mostly self taught I think. He plays around town here and there but for some reason likes to follow Craig around. He likes playing with Craig, so he'll show up at one or two of the regular gigs Craig plays and they let him sit in for a set. A lot of the bars/clubs won't let him in but some of them will. He lives with his Dad who is always looking for a place for him to jam and keeps a pretty tight reign on who is hanging around with his kid.
It's funny, when you look around the bar while he's playing everybody is smiling and all eyes are on him. It's just real strange to see someone so young play like that. Oh, he sings too. This kid is going places if he can keep his head on straight! So far so good, he acts just like any 10 year old kid and doesn't appear to think what he's doing is that unusual. We just hope he doesn't get swallowed up in that whole music scene. No offense to any musicians here, but it can be a bad place if your head ain't screwed on right.
Right now he is taking some lessons from a guy named Terry Furlong who is an old friend of Craig's and former member of The Grass Roots. Craig knew him when he lived in L.A. in the early '70's. His older brother played with Furlong and that L.A. bunch on the strip for a while. Lots of those old rockers live in Arizona, you'd be surprised.
