Sweet Home Alabama

Well, as you all know things have been pretty gloomy for me, Justin, and family the past few weeks. I must say Depression had really kicked in hard. Our Alabama brothers "The Southern Boys Band" invited us down for a big Party they were playing outside of Birmingham and we all felt like we needed some time to do some healing. So,,,, Justin and his awesome wife Beebe, Denise, myself, my son Mike all drove to the heart of the southland. We knew we had just crossed the Alabama border when the first vehicle in front of us was a ole pick up with a huge sign that said "Show us your Hooters", ;D
JoJo decided to drive down and spend the evening with all us and brought her awesome family Tim and Destiny, as did some good friends from Nashville. Let me tell you them Alabama boys sure know how ta throw a party. Justin got up and played 4 sets with them boys and let me tell you,,,, He is definately a chip of the ole block!!!! Way to go my brother!!! I got up and did 3 songs (Fire on the mountain, Can't you see, and finished with www.southernboysband.com/audio/Track-1.wma )...
I can not begin to tell you what a wonderful night it was, we celebrated George, kinship, and "show us your hooters" redneck living. Justin, Brother, I can't tell you what it meant to me to stand next to you playing your Pop's music. Then to finish with Dixie Dreaming with you and the whole Bailey clan (our new bama brothers twice removed from our divorced sisters, cousins brother, ) What a great night. It was like a family reunion and we never got to bed before 3 all weekend. The Bailey boys even treated us to a ride in the most awesome '67 camero (600+ HP)... Now, let me tell ya, aint nothing more exciting than to have Justin McCorkle, The Southern Boys Band, and JoJo Billingsley do Sweet Home Alabama in front of 300 partying Alabama folk... You would have thought they were playing the national anthem..

Next day, we all invaded the local steak house Ryan's (no not Rinds, lol - inside joke ;D ) Stuffed ourselves silly before Justin and Beebe headed back to South Carolina.. Then the bailey boys took me fishin'.. I can not tell you how great I feel today after this weekend with my extended "show me your hooters" family... lol
