RANDY HAD TO LEAVE FOR WORK THIS MORNIN AT 3:30AM LEAVING ME TO TAKE HARLEY OUT TO POTTY. OUR BACK PORCH LIGHT TURNS ON AUTOMATICLY, BUT WE HAVE A FLOOD LIGHT WE TURN ON TO LIGHT UP THE BACK AREA FOR HIM, (THANK GOD). SUDDENLY HARLEY WENT NUTS AND ALL THE HAIR ON HIS BACK STOOD UP. HE STARTED BARKING AND GROWLING, (FIRST I'VE EVER HEARD HIM GROWL). OUT OF NOWHERE A MAN APPEARS AND JUST STANDS THERE. HARLEY WOULD NOT BUDGE. STOOD HIS GROUND AND SHOWED HIS TEETH. I WENT FOR THE DOOR TO GET INSIDE AND REALIZED I COULD NOT LEAVE HARLEY. I HAD TO DRAG HIM BY HIS COLLAR TO GET HIM TO GO WITH ME. THE GUY FINALLY JUMPED THE FENCH AND I RAN INTO THE DOOR LOCKING THEM BEHIND US AS HARLEY WAS BARKING AND WANTING BACK OUT. I WOULDN'T LET HIM. CAN'T HAVE SOMETHING HAPPEN TO MY BABY. I GOT UP STAIRS CALLED THE POLICE AND THEY WERE HERE IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. THEY CHECKED OUT THE BACK YARD AND SAID THEY WOULD SEARCH THE AREA FOR THE MAN I DESCRIBED. THEN THEY PROCEEDED TO PRAISE HARLEY FOR A JOB WELL DONE. ASK WHERE HIS TREATS WERE AND FED HIM A FEW. IT SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME, BUT HARLEY WAS SURE ON TOP OF IT. NOW HE WON'T LEAVE MY SIDE. WHERE I MOVE TO, HE IS MY SHADOW. THANK GOD FOR HARLEY. WITHOUT HIM THIS COULD HAVE BEEN ALOT WORSE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE HAIR ON HIS BACK STAND STRAIGHT UP LIKE THAT EVER. AND HIS GROWL WAS SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER HEARD BEFORE.

Wayda go Harley ! Good boy ! I know my 3 are alot cheaper than a system. It's 600 feet from the road to my door so if someone ever tried to come down they'd bark first and he'd be so far away I wouldn't be able to even ID him. Glad all is ok now Susan. Just try to have them keep a watch on things.

the police said they would since randy leaves so early for work every moring at the same time. they also said to have randy take the dog out before he goes to work. Safer for me.

Great story Susan.......and to think you didn't even want that little guy when he came to ya!! Dogs are smart, our lab does some pretty surprising things sometimes. And yeah, I know....I didn't want her either.
