OK, we are gearing up to start putting this together... So far,,, bigger better light show... Line up will be,opening act, Southern Boys Band, Justin McCorkle, Myself (and special guests) doing a tribute to our lost friend George.. Open Jamming until dusk, then Ragged Jack takes the stage, followed by Candy Coburn, and the night will close with Jimmie Van Zant. There will be several celebrity jammers and guests. Scott Braswell will be the Open Jam Co-Ordinator, The stage will be covered ya'all , We will have full lighting rig, More prizes and gifts, Games, food, more webcams, __________________________________ Now, what this is becoming, with MusiFest, and this event, we hope within the next two years to have a full dedicated venue, stage, camping facilities, etc etc... MusiFest will help to grow our free event.. What you can do? Well folks, let's just say that our event is very expensive to put on. Not complaining. But, if we can start raising some money, we can keep making it better, and better. I am not asking for money. But, if we can raise some money we can do things that I just can't afford myself. The Southern Rock Society folks really saved the day this year with a very generous contribution. This is a family event, so feel free to work on anything you think will help.. Everyone just really stepped in and made this an amazing event this year, and I know everyone will do the same this year. With MusiFest, etc, I have some more bargaining power on motel rates, etc. So,,, 8 months and counting, lets use this forum to start planning, organizing, and co-ordinating, ;D I will start a forum just for RSVP, and anything you are bringing, donating, helping with, and if you are jamming, and any gear you will bring, etc,

OK, we have started to work on Jam-A-Que 2008 ;D We are building stage a little better gathering talent and food, etc. Tony and I are working on some show surprises, etc. Scott B. are you still wanting to be music Director? Got some VERY special guests gonna be there ;D ;D Arrangements, gonna have camping in the yard, camp grounds around the hill at Defeated Creek Park, etc. Need ideas on raising some expense funds, (this has grown to a point that it is getting very expensive - but worth it ) But,, if we can raise a little just to help in the cost it will make it bigger and better. Jammers - Stage will be covered, lights, etc will be there, Drum Riser, etc. WebCams - will have more of them and better angles with audio... Lots more gifts and prizes etc. Have had bunches of folks already coming up to me saying they are coming.. Confirmed artists/special guests:Justin McCorkle - George's Son Gary Allen - Charlie Daniels, JJ Cale Candy Coburn-Texas Chart Topper JoJo Billingsley-LS Honkette Mike Kinneman - www.downsouthjukin.com/images/swarticles.pdfMonica Perry-Singer Songwriter (co-wrote Guitar Playing Man on Tucker record) Southern Boys Band Southern Rock Society Band and more coming everyday... ;D Tentative:Ragged Jack Band Jimmie Van Zant Dangerous Dan Toler

Well I screwed up and accidentally deleted the other thread that was also about the 2008 Jam-A-Que. I was trying to combine them and it didn't work. BUT I still have that other one open in another window so I'll add the posts from that one here. I'm sorry....... I oughta back away from this for a while, geesh! These posts will obviously be out of sync with the dates.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK, ya'all use this forum to RSVP, and list any contributions, and if you plan on jamming and gear you will bring, or song requests.
As you all know this is a free deal. We supply food, music, and a chance to meet some very special folks. Last year was Jo Jo Billingsley, Jane Van Zant, Gary Allen, and George McCorkle was scheduled until he was hospitalized. This year will be no different... Only we got lots more surprises
As you can guess this costs me 1000's to put on.. If you want to help out you can make donations or if you want to try to raise money to help you can send it to our paypal account admin@downsouthjukin.com (I will create a paypal button link when Paypal comes back up )
