so give us the details ;D sounded fun!!!
Well there's not much more to tell other than trivial stuff.
When I pulled up to the parking lot, I noticed that parking was not a gonna be an easy option. Well, heck! I'm with the band so I whip it into the "No Public Entry!" gaurded by two Prattville police officers. Before one could even ask me what the hell I'm doing I declared that I was with the band and I need someone to imediately direct me to VIP parking.
They pointed me down a private drive that led to behind the building.
Once I got there, there were a team of high ranking fireman officers in full uniform approached my van flailing thier arms in a "You went the wrong way!" jesture. I hit them with the same line and they directed me to an area right next to the back door of the building that had no other cars around....just bass boats.
Once I got out of the van I looked for the backdoor entry.
No one would open the door so I headed back towards the van.
One the way back, I notice a female officer guarding a bay door used for pulling boats and gear into a showroom.
I knocked on the glass and asked where the VIP room is...lol.
She opened the bay door and said that she didnt know and she asked me who I was. Once I explained, she motioned for an event organizer named Margarette to help me from there.
Margarette was very nice and very professional and jumped on getting me where I needed to go. She said wait here for just one moment until she figures things out using her communication radio. Then she left me there with the officer until she returned.
Well, police tend to get me paraniod to be around sometimes ;D so I just stood there like a cardboard cutout.
Then suddenly, this police woman started a conversation about prison and people that are incarcerated that dont belong there and other folks who just need to be there that didnt do anything major wrong but might if they had no place to live etc etc....
Nervously, I tried to express my point of view here and there including that she could now close the bay door which thankfully she did but after a few moments I was under the impression that she just wanted to be the one talking yet in a real polite and normal friendly kind of way. She was very friendly indeed.
So I just stood there listening to her for anound 10-15 minutes until Margarette returned.
Then I started to panic inside that Margarette may have forgot I was waiting for instructions back here.
Wait a minute! Do I see Margarette coming my way? Hey Margarette! Over here! Over here!
Nah! It wast like that... lol Just joking police lady!!!!!
Well, Margarette informed me that the stage was in FRONT of the building and all of my gear is here in the back.
Margarette was on it!
She rounded me up a hand truck and another assistant of her's that steared me a path through the building to the stage area.
I give a hand of applause to Margarette!!! Thank You Margarette!!!!
From there I felt like a fish back in water.
Other than what I later posted after I got back home that night.....that was about the whole story.
Here's a news paper clipping. Its the only photo I have found so far. I enlarged it somewhat to fit the computer screen better.
